Introduction

You’re reading the news, and you see a story about a man or woman who came along with a product or service so intuitive, so obvious, that they couldn’t help but make a fortune off of it. You know, something like putting Organic Pancake Batter… in an aerosol can.

And you think to yourself –

Now, why didn’t I think of that?

It’s a question that thinkofthat.net co-creators Greg Anastos and Bob Smith have asked themselves time and time again. It’s that simple question which inspired them to create Why Didn’t I Think of That?–a series of informative, inspirational stories about the industrious men and women who have managed to turn their unique ideas into real life success stories.

Why Didn’t I Think of That? will be premiering soon on a radio station near you. In the mean time, Bob and Greg have asked me to start a regular blog on their website.

The thinking was simple: provide a daily dose of inspiration to people– aspiring entrepreneurs and regular folks alike. (And what with the economy’s current condition, it couldn’t have come at a better time.) It’s that uplifting attitude that I love about Greg and Bob’s show, and what I hope to provide here in a broader format.

We’ll be talking about entrepreneurs, start-ups, small businesses, people making millions, and people fighting tenaciously to get by. We’ll talk about their businesses, and the decisions they’ve made that set their companies apart from the rest.

While current events will certainly be fodder for entries, this is not a Business News Blog. This is a blog about Business Stories. At Why Didn’t I Think of That?, we recognize that every successful business is the work of real people like you and me. It’s that human aspect which most interests us. Through blood, sweat, and tears, these people have made their ideas a reality.

Our stories will be both old and new. From Alka-Seltzer to I-Phone Apps.

Maybe you’re an aspiring entrepreneur. Maybe you’ve already “taken the plunge” (in which case, we’d love to hear your story). Either way, Thinkofthat.net is a place for you to come whenever you want to hear a good story, or whenever you need a reminder of the kind of possibilities that are available to every one of us, if we only take the initiative to make it happen.

I hope to see you back here soon. We’ve got some great stories for you.

Thanks for reading,

Benjamin Christopher
