Entrepreneur Phil Libin was fascinated by the memory process. He had a goal to create a product that would serve as everyone’s “second brain.”
About the business:
In 2009, Libin launched Evernote. The software captures typed or handwritten notes, illustrations, pictures, web pages, and conversations. You don’t have to organize this random data -- Evernote does it for you. It can also retrieve it anytime, from any of your devices, via a key word. Within three years, Evernote had over 11 million global users.
Since launching last year, Silicon Valley tech star-up Particle Code company has been the subject of much industry buzz. So perhaps it shouldn’t have come as a surprise that this one year old company, itself the byproduct of an acquisition, was acquired by competitor Appcelerator, for an undisclosed sum earlier this week.
